Arizona pulls off he upset!! What a game. The Wildcats never gave up and sent the seniors off in style in their last home game of the season.

Anu Solomon had a great game with two touchdown passes and a nice 6 yard run for a TD. Solomon also ran a lot more than previous games which was nice to see.

Unfortunately, in the 4th quarter Solomon got hit with a cheap shot to the head by a Utah player. As a result he was taken out of the game as precaution – he probably has a concussion.

Enter Jerrard Randall to take over as QB. The Utes knew Randall can run and they prepared for it. They pretty much made his running ineffective. As a result he had to start passing the ball and threw an interception.

This easily could have been a turning point for the Cats. They were now tied and heading to overtime.

Arizona won the coin flip and deferred to let Utah start on offense. The Utes failed to get a TD, but did get a field goal. Arizona was then able to respond and got a field goal to tie the game again.

The second overtime now starts and they begin with a pass play. Randall threw a nearly perfect 25 Yd pass to Nate Phillips in the end zone. TOUCHDOWN!! Nate Phillips made an incredible catch to put the Wildcats ahead. Here is the TD replay:

Now the Utes had a chance to even the score again, but the defense stepped up big time and had to force Travis Wilson to pass on 4th down. Incomplete Pass. GAME OVER!! WILDCATS WIN!!

This team didn’t give up and after three losses in a row this was a huge win to beat a top ten team.

Some notable players that had a big impact on this game were Cayleb Jones and the kicker Casey Skowron. Cayleb Jones had some great catches including a TD and some nice runs after he caught the ball. Skowron hit 3 field goals that definitely helped with getting us the win.

As a result of this win the Wildcats are now bowl eligible. Arizona will make history because this will be the first time the Wildcats made it to a bowl game four years in a row.

What now? Oh yeah – we have that game against the Scummies next week at Tempe Normal. Let’s get another victory! BEAR DOWN!!
