Arizona 94 ASU 82 – Bobby Hurley Has A Major Temper Tantrum
Well, it was great weekend to be a Wildcats fan. First, the ASU football team loses to West Virginia by one point, but it wasn’t just that. They didn’t go for two points on the previous touchdown which would have tied the game if they scored. These coaches get paid millions of dollars and can’t do simple math.
Anyway – on to the real game. The Arizona basketball team has not won in Tempe in several seasons so this game was going to be a huge revenge game for the Cats.
The first half started off well for the Wildcats, but then there was a slight lull and ASU at one point was leading by 9 points. The Cats needed a spark and they get it with Kaleb Tarczewski.
Zeus has not played in eight games so this was going to be a real test. He came in and gave the team the spark they needed. He played well and really helped on defense. As a result Arizona got back on track by the close of the first quarter and were now ahead 41-35. It must be a real pain for a team to cover Dusan Ristic and Kaleb Tarczewski in a game – you never really get a break.
The second half started off a little slow and then Allonzo Trier made a much needed three point shot. This must have triggered something in Gabe York’s head because when he started taking three point shots he couldn’t miss. This really helped the team pull away and put them in a more comfortable position to win. York shot 4-7 for three.
It was now starting to get to crunch time for the Sun Devils and they now had to start fouling. This is when all the excitement started and Bobby Hurley had a meltdown of epic proportions. He apparently didn’t think Gabe York was fouled and started yelling at the refs. Keep in mind he already got technical foul earlier so now he was treading on thin ice – then BOOM he gets hits with a second technical foul and gets ejected fromt the game.

Bobby if you happen to ever read this, the refs in Pac 12 suck. They always have and probably always will. Your team was still in this game and you personally took away any opportunity for them to win. That’s on you and you looked like a total fool.
All in all it was a great road game and great way to start off Pac 12 Conference play. Great game!! Let’s keep this going for the next two away games.
